Welcome to
COART ENSEMBLE
– Creative Café and Garden –
…
The COART cafe has the joy of inviting you to discover the artist in each of us, to enjoy gastronomy and to enjoy together with the infusion of nature and culture of the space of the Mihail Vlădescu Garden and Villa. This space honors us enormously with every new secret we learn about the architectural project or the life story of the host. Mihail Vlădescu was one of the most important personalities of Câmpulungului, a prestigious researcher, teacher, minister, man of culture, who, like many other hidden treasures of Romania's heritage, was forgotten both in the place where he was born and and at the national level. The COART ensemble lays the foundations of a cultural center dedicated to the research and cultural, scientific and artistic reactivation of the personalities of Muscel, past and future, inviting in this endeavor all those inspired by the very active life of Mihail Vlădescu.

During the research of the digital archives, which lasted more than 5 years, we tried to explore the personal and genealogical universe of the host of the villa and garden, whose previous functions did not take into account their heritage value and which now deserve attention public, together with the story of Mihail Vlădescu's life. During this long-term project, we will try to re-tie the thread of a fascinating destiny. We would be extremely happy if other expedition colleagues, perhaps better informed, but just as eager as we are to share the saga of this little-known branch, will embark on this journey to discover the story of such a diverse character of the historical Vlădescu family.

The steps initiated by the COART Ensemble team represent an effort to restore and recover the cultural heritage, memory and what remains renewable and revitalizable from the work of Mihail Vlădescu and other local personalities, so that they can be preserved and carried forward by the community from Campulung Muscel and Romania.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Strada Republicii was called Mihail C. Vlădescu Street in honor of the one who had been the Minister of Education and Cults, in today's language representing the Ministry of Education, Culture and Cults. This lesser-known son of Câmpulung Muscel was thus part of the people who built the education and culture of modern Romania, characters and stories often forgotten or much too discreet in the local and national memory of the 21st century.

Why Câmpulung Muscel?
Câmpulung Muscel is a mountain town, small but full of history, and we believe that, with its great past, it will also have a great future. This future depends only on us, the friends of Câmpulungului, residents or just in love with its qualities, amazed and delighted by every valuable element that still survives and enriches the natural and cultural heritage of Muscel and of Romania. This natural and cultural heritage, more simply called CULTURAL LANDSCAPE, was created by People. The people who were born, lived or created memorable works in Muscel are the artisans of everything that remains, is and will be good and valuable in this space. Although it does not seem to be an extremely well-known city at the national level, many of the people of Câmpulungu and Muscelu have literally made history and left behind valuable works: Pârvu Mutu Zugravul, Theodor Aman, George D. Mirea, Dimitrie Mirea, Ion D Negulici, Nicolae Grant, Ileana Ceaușu Pandele, Dumitru Mățăuanu, Stone Craftsmen and Builders with Italian origins whose names are grafted into many of Muscelu's heritage buildings, Constantin Baraschi, Olga Greceanu, Dinicu Golescu, C. D. Aricescu, Mihail Tican - Rumano . Gheorghe Pârnuță, Dimitrie Baciu, Alexandru Mușatescu, Constantin Gogu, Sarmiza Bilcescu-Alimăneșteanu, Alexandru Cercel, Nae Leonard, D. Ionescu Berechet, Alexandru Săvulescu, Vasile Caramelea, Ioan Gri Gorescu, Nicolae Th. Ștefănescu, Ion Timuș, etc

Numerous personalities have been active in the field of exact sciences or humanities, but many even of them, together with most of the reference names in the life of Câmpulungului, have been active in the field of Art. The art of working together, collaborating, collaborating, the art of co-creating of these Muscel artisans generated and regenerated all that is good and valuable in the concentric space of the Field. That's why the name of this initiative: COART - Câmpulung City of Arts, of the arts of peace, creativity and joy together!
